John Green started a new literature series on his Crash Course channel on YouTube. I forgot to post about it when it started, so people may have some catching up to do. If you have not read the books yet, I recommend reading them before watching the videos. However, I do think most of these books are spoiler-proof. For instance, I’m fairly certain that everyone knows how Oedipus ends. Therefore, if you have not read the books or are in the process of reading them, watching the videos probably will not ruin the plot for you.
The first video is on the Odyssey. Unfortunately, Crash Course decided to over the entire 12,000-line epic in a single, twelve-minute video. So there are a lot of fascinating and compelling aspects of the book that the video does not cover, but it is at the very least a good place to get “the conversation” going.
